Over the last two years we've given 120 public presentations to 6000 New Hampshire residents. We've traveled all over the state and met wonderful people who are deeply concerned about our changing climate. We've showed a lot of PowerPoint slides, drank a lot of coffee, burned a lot of gasoline, and witnessed firsthand what an amazing state New Hampshire truly is.

Our children and grandchildren need us to reduce our fossil fuel use now.

As much as we've enjoyed giving these talks, one thing always bothered us. What are people doing as a result of our talk? What actions are they taking in their homes and in their communities to reduce their energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions? The answer was never too clear. Since we believe that we can stabilize our climate if we all act now and significantly reduce our emissions, we want to catalyze action and not just present information. So....
OUR NEW PRESENTATION POLICY:
If your organization or community group is interested in learning more about New Hampshire's changing climate and is willing to take concrete, measurable action(s) that will
logically result in households using less energy, we would love to come and talk to you.
What kinds of action? Some suggestions include:
Agree to take the NH Carbon Challenge as an organization (See our 10 Great Reasons Your Organization Should Take the Carbon Challenge).
Donate a Kill-a-Watt meter and a book about home energy efficiency (one of our favorites: The Home Energy Diet book) to your local public library and publicize their availability to residents in your town.
Volunteer to help your town's local energy committee. If your town doesn't have a local energy committee, ask your Board of Selectmen to create one.
Help students at your school estimate the school's carbon footprint and identify ways to reduce the school's energy consumption. Then work with administrators, teachers, and parents to implement changes.
We're not too picky about the kinds of action (naturally, we encourage groups to take the Challenge), we just want to see real progress towards reducing our emissions and stabilizing our climate. Our children and grandchildren need us to take action now.
We look forward to hearing from you!
PRESENTATION DETAILS:
The New England Carbon Challenge is pleased to offer a presentation to municipalities, community groups, schools, faith-based organizations, and other
non-profit organizations interested in taking action to reduce household carbon emissions:

Presentation Overview: With gasoline and home heating oil hovering at $4.00 a gallon, now is a great time to reduce your home's energy consumption. This presentation will
give an overview of New Hampshire's changing climate and will highlight projections for this century. We will then emphasize simple steps that
residents can take to reduce their environmental impact and save money in the process. New Hampshire households that have taken the Carbon Challenge (http://necarbonchallenge.org) have
reduced their energy consumption by an average of 17% and are saving $850 a year.
Think there's nothing you can do to slow climate change? Join us and learn the many ways you can be a part of the solution!
